World No Tobacco Day

World No Tobacco Day aims to spotlight the business practices of tobacco companies designed to ensnare generations of consumers and their interference in policy decisions that weaken effective tobacco control measures. This day highlights the efforts of the WHO in combating the tobacco epidemic, which kills up to half its users and results in over eight million deaths annually. It also underscores what individuals can do to protect future generations and ensure everyone's right to health. Each year, the theme of World No Tobacco Day focuses on a specific issue related to tobacco and its industry.

Established in 1987 by the Member States of the World Health Organization (WHO), World No Tobacco Day seeks to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of tobacco products on individuals, public health, communities, and the environment
